The artwork on this page is from a visual biography of one of the world’s most famous icons, BOB MARLEY. This book will tap into MILLIONS of Marley fans responsible for BILLIONS in sales of Bob Marley music and merchandise. The book may also be a MIXED MEDIA package that can include a CD or DVD of Bob Marley, his music and his legacy.

Marley’s life story of an impoverished Jamaican youth who became an international legend, is exciting, inspirational and educational. It is told visually in a way that will appeal to ALL demographics, not limited to age, sex or ethnicity.

This unique biography is a cinematic tour-de-force illustrated by Marvel Comics veteran artist Gene Colan with painted finishes by noted Jamaican Rasta artist Tennyson Smith. The story was painstakingly researched by writers Charles E. Hall and Mort Todd and approved by the Marley family and estate.

This book was originally released as a three-part graphic novel series from Marvel Music, an imprint of Marvel Comics, in 1994. The books had very limited distribution and copies of each volume sell for up to $50 on eBay and with music collectors. The San Diego Union-Tribune said it was “imbued with stunning graphics and a literate story line” and the website www.reggaerunnins.com states “Gorgeous illustrations abound throughout, and a lot of Rasta wisdom is shared and expressed.”

Now these issues will finally be collected into book form, with over 40 new pages never before seen. Thanks to advances in scanning technology over the past ten years, the artwork will now look better than ever and be re-lettered for a more graphic reading experience.

The planned format is a 144 page 6” x 9” trade paperback. There is also much potential in releasing a limited hardcover edition and/or a mixed media package with CD.

Bob Marley is such a cultural force that this book could be a perennial, that can sell for-I-ver!
