A book has been released covering the history of rock & roll in comics! "Can Rock & Roll Save the World?" is the question asked by author Ian Shirley in a book from SAF Publications (UK). The book covers topics from Abba and Action Comics to ZZ Top and Zap Comics. Naturally, COMICFIX's Mort Todd, the founder of Marvel Music, gets a chapter about his graphic albums which included releases with KISS, Alice Cooper, Bob Marley, and others. There's also information about unreleased Marvel Music titles like Elvis Presley and AC/DC. As the subtitle suggests, the book is profusely illustrated and has a great cover by Michael Allred.
Comicfix will soon have a Music Comics page with a cover gallery of
Mort's titles, descriptions and creator line-ups. To order Can Rock & Roll Save the World, click HERE!

Comicfix's MORT TODD moderated the El Muerto Movie Panel at the San Diego Comic Convention where the initial film trailer was exclusively screened. The movie is based on EL MUERTO, the Aztec Zombie comic book by JAVIER HERNANDEZ and stars WILMER VALDERRAMA (from That 70s Show).
At left is Mort with Wilmer after the panel and on the right with
creator Javier. The film just finished filming and is in
post-production with a planned
2006 release. For more pictures and links to the comic and movie sites,

Announcing new MOLLY THE MODEL and BAT LADY merchandise!
MOLLY THE MODEL,
the first interactive daily comic strip is currently in hiatus.
But while we're gearing up for a relaunch soon (and developing an
interactive live action TV show), we've created a cool line of new
merchandise. We also have plans to spin-off BAT LADY from the comic (a film script is being written as you read this), so we've also got a few choice items inspired by her!

COMICFIX proudly announces the first collection from the MOLLY THE MODEL comic strip. BAT LADY is actually a “comic within a comic” as Molly Marks, the protagonist of the MOLLY THE MODEL comic strip, gets her first professional modeling gig portraying the comic book heroine BAT LADY. Molly attends a comic book convention as BAT LADY, becomes an actual crime-fighter and gets in a battle royale with her arch-rival model!
MOLLY THE MODEL
is the first daily interactive newspaper strip and syndicated by
Comicfix. It follows the adventures of a young model that has just
moved to New York City to
follow her dreams. Molly and her friends face a variety of dilemmas and
it’s up to the reader to decide what the characters should do by
going on-line. The popular choice voted on by the fans gets
incorporated into the storyline. It’s the first comedy/drama soap opera
where the audience decides the characters’ fates!
BAT LADY, a limited edition paperback book collection, is now on sale. To see more BAT LADY art click here. To order the book, click here. To receive further updates, info on other BAT LADY merchandise and how to order, send an e-mail to batlady at comicfix dot com.
